Penrith-based Cumbrian Homes have won the Eden District Council Build Quality Award in the multiple housing category for their Otter’s Holt development in the village of Culgaith, just six miles east of Penrith..jpg)
The development of three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached homes is situated on the Western edge of the village and enjoys a tranquil location between Cross Fell and the rugged Pennines to the East and the River Eden which it overlooks to the West.
The award scheme recognises the high standard of construction within the Eden area. The citation for Otter’s Holt read,’ The new housing development presents a good mix of family sized houses, the variety of house styles and sizes will undoubtedly meet the needs of most families.”
“The homes are built to a high standard and incorporate efficient heating systems and modern construction methods whilst keeping in character with a pleasant mix of render and stonework panels. The key features of the scheme are the quality of workmanship throughout, the modern construction and the good design with attention to detail.”
The showhome of the first phase of this development opened two years ago, since which time homes have been selling steadily, despite the general downturn in the housing market, with Phase II due to be officially launched later this Summer.
John Pallister, Joint Managing Director of Penrith-based Cumbrian Homes, commented, “We’re delighted to have won this award for what is now one of our flagship developments. The award is really down to our Site Manager, Shaun Frith, and all our superb on-site team that have helped to create an award-winning development and we’re all looking forward to having the chance to build more quality homes on future sites in the area.”
“A housing development which gets the three basics of location, design and price will always sell, despite the prevailing economic conditions. With Otters Holt, we have a superb location that offers a truly rural setting but just a few minutes from the A66, Penrith and the M6. The houses here offer a number of superb designs to suit a range of budgets and we’ve had buyers from both the local area and further afield. There’s a lot of interest in the development with several reservations already on Phase II and we’re confident, with buyers now returning to the new home market, that the remaining homes will start to sell quickly.”
Prices for homes currently available for sale at Otter’s Holt start from £298,500 with further details available from Cumbrian Homes on (01768) 840840 or on the web site at www.cumbrian-homes.co.uk.
Winners of the NHBC Gold Award, the Newcastle Journal 21st Century Living Award and established in 1971, Cumbrian Homes Ltd are builders of high quality homes and currently have homes for sale at four developments throughout Cumbria.
