SEDBERGH UPDATE
Posted on 19 Nov 2011

It's been some 13 months since we first announced the purchase of land in Sedbergh close to Kendal, so thought it was time we produced an update for the benefit of the huge number of people who have enquired about the development.
The very good news is that we're almost finished approving the layout of the scheme infrastructure after which we can publish the detailed layout of the development. Situated adjacent to Joss Lane at the end of Winfield Road, the site overlooks the town and will contain 12 new homes built using local stone in a variety of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom designs, some of which may well incorporate first floor living areas to take advantage of the incredible views.

The homes will be the first new development within Sedbergh for many years and will also be built to the very latest standards - the 2010 Building Regulations - which incorporate extremely high levels of energy efficiency and reduced water consumption , thereby saving home owners money in the long run on their running costs as well as reducing their exposure to ever increasing energy prices.
Despite the fact that we haven't finalised the development layout or released prices for the first phase of homes released for sale, we've actually taken our first reservation for a new home here, an indication of the interest the development has created both locally and further afield. Early reservations like this one allows the buyers to become involved in the design stage of the construction process, ensuring their new home is almost tailor-made to their individual requirements with room layouts and finishes easily altered at this stage.

We hope to start preliminary construction in the early half of 2012 with final details and prices becoming available shortly after but will be updating the web site with further news as we go along. We'll also be contacting those prospective buyers who have expressed an interest in purchasing a new home here, individually, before the information is released to the general public. If you would like to be kept informed please register your interest via the website or by contacting our Head Office.
Sedbergh, located just 5 miles from access to the M6 and close to Kendal, one of the Southern Lake District's most picturesque market towns, is actually in Cumbria, although it also sits within the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and home to some 2,700 residents and the famous public school. Recently, the town has re-invented itself as a Book Town with the local economy boosted by a loose collection of businesses based around books and their production.
