New Editions to Culgaith back to home page

Victoria and Guy Haughan have every reason to look forward to Christmas this year with the imminent arrival of their first baby and a move into their new home at Cumbrian Homes’ Otter’s Holt development in the village of Culgaith, just six miles east of Penrith.

The Haughan family will become the latest additions to the Culgaith community with six of the first phase of 15 homes at Otter’s Holt now sold.

The Haughan family are moving back to the country after living in a Penrith apartment close to the family saddlers business of Slack Equestrian. Victoria, who is originally from Newby, said, “I’ve always missed the country and we couldn’t ask for a more rural village location than Culgaith, so I’m really looking forward to moving into the house in a few weeks’ time.”

“Culgaith is a lovely village with a superb Primary School and a great community, including its own Black Swan pub, but it was the layout of the development that really sold me on the move. We’d looked around other new developments and that houses were so crowded together, whereas here, there’s plenty of space with room between the houses.”

“I was also very impressed by the design and the fact that the price included the wardrobes, worktops, appliances and carpets all things we would have had to pay extra for at other developments.”

Cumbrian Homes are winners of the NHBC Gold Award and the Newcastle Journal 21st Century Living Award.
