Settling in Cumbria

2 May 2018

They say that moving house is one of the top most stressful things that can happen in a person’s life.  Whether you are buying your first home, or are well versed in packing up your belongings and moving into a new pad, there is no argument that times like these can be stressful.

At Cumbrian Homes, we want to make the transition from one house to another as smooth as possible and our Sales Team is always on hand to answer any questions or assist with any issues you may have.  We encourage you to be involved with all aspects of your home being built and as kitchens, bathrooms, fittings and finishing’s are all part of the Cumbrian Homes package, you don’t need to worry about organising various different tradesmen to complete the interior of your home.

With peace of mind that the completion of your new home is taken care of, let’s turn our attention to the area you will be moving to.  Area is one of the key factors in choosing a property and many of our customers are born and bred in Cumbria.  Our developments have covered areas such as Penrith, Culgaith, Sedbergh, Blencarn and Temple Sowerby and stretch across the Cumbrian region.

As we are situated in a wonderful part of the world, we’ve made a list of why Cumbria is such a great place to move to!

1.    Countryside

The beautiful scenery, countryside walks and activities make Cumbria a natural choice for outdoor enthusiasts.  With plenty to do at weekends, there is always an opportunity to try something new and meet new people!

2.    Career Opportunities

Cumbria offers career opportunities across many different industries including health, education, manufacturing, engineering and hospitality for example.  With many established businesses, including BAE Systems and GSK, Cumbria has plenty of career opportunities on offer.

3.    Investment

West Cumbria is home to Britain’s Energy Coast which is a UK based organisation that specialises in operating, owning and regenerating property.  There has been massive investment in ‘Britain’s Energy Coast’ and continued development in nuclear and renewable energy.

4.    Tourism

In 2017, the Lake District was named as a World Heritage Site.  A hugely popular tourist destination along with the historic offerings across Cumbria such as the home of Beatrix Potter, Hadrian’s Wall and a strong mining heritage means there is a buzzing tourist industry that is appealing all year round providing business and job opportunities for locals.

5.    Culture

You don’t need to be the ‘outdoorsy’ type to enjoy what Cumbria has to offer!  There are a wide range of cultural events, festivals, shows, pubs and restaurants across the county with something for everyone.

Our list of reasons why Cumbria is a great place to move to could go on and on but we’ll stop there just now!  We are lucky that we are able to compliment such a wonderful area with quality homes that are perfect for those wanting to settle in Cumbria.  We might be biased, but we couldn’t recommend a better area in the UK!
